Next up, later, and not for now
No dates. We would only be guessing, and a studio planning its season around a guessed date is worse off than one that knows the feature isn't there. The order below is the order we intend to work in, checked on 25 Oct 2026.
Before studios outside the beta can use it
- Going live. CullTone isn't open to the public yet. It needs a permanent home, backups with a tested restore, and someone watching it.
- Email. Confirming your address at sign-up, password reset, invite emails, and notices when a gallery is ready or about to close.
- A Mac app approved by Apple, so macOS opens it without a warning, and updates that arrive without a reinstall.
- A Windows version, tested on a real Windows PC.
- Billing. The plans, limits and AI credit already work; nothing is charged.
- Testing Canon CR3 and CR2, Nikon NEF, Fujifilm RAF and DNG files, and publishing a list of cameras we support.
- Limits on how often sign-up, invites and gallery comments can be tried. Gallery PINs already have one.
Measuring before claiming
This is the part we care about most. We need 10 to 20 real weddings culled by CullTone and by the photographer who shot them, so we can count how often CullTone archives a frame the photographer would have kept. Our target for those must-keep frames is 99% or better. Until we have that number, we don't publish an accuracy figure.
The same goes for edits (a blind comparison with photographers' own edits, on very light and very deep skin, and in mixed indoor, night and flash light), for the learned personal style on a real Lightroom catalog, for opening our XMP sidecars in Lightroom Classic, for the Photoshop round trip with Photoshop itself, and for an album printed by a real lab.
During the beta
- iPhone HEIC photos checked on real phones, and taken in a project of finished photos.
- Downloads of a whole project export or a large selection that pick up where they stopped after a broken connection.
- Push and email notifications on the phone.
- Payment before download: a balance due on a gallery, and the ZIP ready to download once it is paid.
- Checks on a real iPhone, iPad and Android phone, with real fingers rather than a simulator.
Done since the first roadmap
These were on this page on 18 Oct 2026 and are in the app now: a simple mode with a Pro switch, the Import, Cull, Edit, Review and Deliver steps, invites to one project, a coverage view, a look preview on a varied set of photos, camera clock fixes, proofing galleries, gallery PINs, watermarks and your logo, a Galleries page, and Finish project. An album draft with a print-ready export came after that.
Not planned yet
Tethered or wireless camera import, CRM and bookings, video editing, a print store, and native phone apps. All five are reasonable things to want. We'll consider them only once studios keep using CullTone for culling and delivery week after week, because building them earlier would spread us across six products before the first one is finished.
Held for later, on purpose: projects straight from Google Drive or Dropbox, sending a gallery to another gallery service, ordering prints from a lab inside CullTone, and links to booking and invoicing tools.
If one of these decides whether you'd switch, say so through the contact form. It can change the order.
