Catch the blown dress before the bride does
The quality check runs in the Review step, the last desk before the gallery. It catches the faults you'd be embarrassed to have a client find: a face that drifted green, a dress with no detail left, a file at the wrong size, a capture time that vanished. Whether the photo is good is still your call.
| Flag | What sets it off |
|---|---|
| Skin colour shift | A face's skin moved in colour more than the rest of the frame did. Skipped for black and white, and for rotated or straightened edits. |
| Retouch skin shift | Face retouch changed someone's skin colour by more than a set limit. |
| Clipped highlights | Areas blown to near-white. Strong colours alone don't count. |
| Size | The file isn't the size the edit should produce. |
| Metadata lost | The capture time, your copyright line or the orientation didn't make it into the JPEG. |
| Not sRGB | A JPEG or TIFF came in with another colour profile. |
Retouched photos get a lighter check of their own: size and shape, clipping compared with the original, and metadata.
Warm looks are meant to be warm
A golden-hour look is supposed to warm skin, and a flag that fires on every photo gets ignored by the third wedding. So a face is flagged only when its skin moved on its own and against the whole frame, which keeps darker skin and warm looks from being nudged towards some average.
Two looks still trip it too often: Moody & rich flagged on five of our five test photos and Light & airy on four. We're retuning both. Expect flags on faces if you use them.
Look at the real file
Each photo opens as a 100% crop of the final file with a before and after, because that's where soft focus and patchy retouching give themselves away. Approve it or send it back for a redo, one at a time or in bulk, or swipe through on a phone. A teammate with the reviewer role can do this without edit rights, and the version you approve is the one that goes into the gallery.
Already happy in the studio? View render opens the finished file with zoom, marks any clipping, and lets you approve it there.
Not checked yet
Focus. A soft photo that slipped past the cull won't be flagged, so the 100% view is your safety net. It also won't spot one photo much brighter than its neighbours, and you can't assign the check to a particular teammate.
Check a wedding before it goes out
The quality check is in every plan, including the 30-day trial. Edit a few photos and open it from the project.
