Product photo editing software that knows white is the point

A pure-white sweep that clips is a finished background, and you need the front, the back, the side and the detail of every item. CullTone's product preset treats your white backdrop as intended, keeps the angles you shot, and catches the frames that are soft, mistimed or off-colour.

White isn't overexposed

A bright backdrop, even one clipping across a quarter of the frame, is read as the look you built.

Every angle survives

At least three frames are kept from each set-up, so the side view isn't dropped as a near-duplicate of the front.

Focus stacks kept whole

Macro stacks and exposure brackets are recognised and decided as one set for your merge.

Neutral colour

The starting edit corrects white balance firmly and adds no saturation, so a navy jumper stays navy.

Product culling is about catching misses

On a wedding, a culler's job is choosing. On a product set, the right number of keepers is most of them, and the job is catching the frames that let the set down: the soft one where the stack slipped, the one where the light didn't fire, the one a fraction off colour. So the product preset aims to keep about half the shoot, which is far more than any other preset, and puts sharpness and exposure ahead of everything else. Faces, expression and style count for nothing. Motion-blur flags are off on a still set.

Sharpness counts across the frame as well as at its sharpest point, so a crisp label alone doesn't carry a soft product. Each frame carries its reason in plain words, and anything you disagree with moves with one key. The culling page lists every reason.

One gap to know: CullTone doesn't yet check that every item in a catalogue was shot at the same angle and size. Consistency across a range is still a look down the grid.

Clean, accurate edits

Editorial clean is the natural look for product work: neutral, crisp and nothing stylised. True to camera keeps your own colour exactly, and High-key bright opens up lifestyle and flat-lay shots. Painting out a speck of dust or a stray thread is free for small spots in the edit studio. Before delivery, the quality check flags highlights the edit has clipped and any size or metadata problem. Finished JPEGs are exported at quality 95.

Brands approve, shops download

Send the brand one link. Their team approves the frames they'll use and asks for a redo with a note ("warmer on the leather, please"), and every note lands on the right photo. When it's signed off, switch downloads on and they take the whole set as a ZIP or one image at a time. Galleries stay up for six months and can be revoked when the campaign ends. For property and interiors, see real estate and architecture.

Does it cut products out onto white?

No. It respects the white you shot. Cut-outs and clipping paths stay with your retouching tool.

What do I need?

A Mac with Apple silicon. Culling runs there with no charge per photo. CullTone is in beta and there's no Windows build yet.
